The 2025 King's Birthday Honours List recognised eight APRA AMCOS members for their services to the arts.

Baz Luhrmann has received the highest honour, the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC),
“for eminent service to the arts as a filmmaker, to the theatre, to cultural heritage, and to the development of artistic talent.” Four members were appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), and three received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

Whilst primarily known as Australia’s most commercially successful film director, Baz Luhrmann also holds production and writing credits on many of his Grammy-nominated soundtracks, including 2002’s Moulin Rouge!, and The Great Gatsby (2013). His 1999 track “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” reached #1 on the UK charts.  Designer and business partner Catherine Martin also received an AC recognition.

Six-time winner of the WAMAwards’ Indigenous Act of the Year category, Guy Ghouse has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his ‘significant service to music performance and education.”
Ghouse is a songwriter and guitarist who works in the Noongar language. Last year he co-wrote the opera Wundig wer Wilura (Wundig and Wilura), which was performed with the West Australian Opera. Ghouse joins his musical counterpart Gina Williams, who in 2021 was also honoured with a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) award.

Iain Grandage has been recognised for his “significant service to the arts as a composer and artistic director.” Grandage is no stranger to APRA AMCOS, having won three APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards (2015, 2007 and 2005), as well as being a finalist in 2011.  Among his many scores are: Cloudstreet, The Secret River, The Rabbits (in collaboration with Kate Miller-Heidke), Babes in the Wood and the feature film Runt (2024).

Bruce Rowland has been recognised for his  “significant service to music as a composer, arranger and conductor.” Rowland is perhaps best known for creating the score to the 1980s Australian classic film series: The Man From Snowy River. The ‘Main Theme’ opened the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony, broadcast to a live audience of around 3.7 billion viewers. In 2005 Rowland received the ‘International Achievement Award’ at the APRA Screen Music Awards.

Greta Bradman has been recognised for her ‘significant service to the performing arts in a range of roles, and to psychology.’
A registered psychologist, Bradman has played an extensive role at Opera Australia in her positions as Board Member, Principal Soprano and Guest Artist and Soloist. She also hosts ABC Radio’s Mindful Music program, and presented ABC’s Classic Weekend Brunch program for eight years (2016 - 2024).

Three additional members have been honoured with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
Melbourne educator and conductor Mark Ford has been recognised for his ‘service to music education, and to the arts.’ Ford has worked at Victorian College of the Arts, Wesley College, and more recently was the Head of Bands and Manager, Percussion Department at St Leonard’s College Melbourne (2019 - 2024).

Canberran folk singer and diplomat Iain ‘Fred’ Smith was recognised for his “service to music and foreign affairs.” Smith was featured in a 2013 episode of the ABC program Australian Story, which explored his work as a musician and diplomat in Afghanistan and on peace-building missions in the South Pacific.

Finally, Melbourne DJ, producer and event organiser Philip Ivanov (DJ Ransom) is recognised for his ‘services to the creative arts in Victoria.’ Ivanov is particularly well-known for pioneering the ‘Late Show’ club night that has been running at music institution Revolver Upstairs for over two decades.
