APRA AMCOS and fellow industry partners the Association of Artist Managers (AAM), the Live Music Office and The Push have unveiled more details about a series of incredible events for music creators heading to Warrnambool, VIC this September.

The free More Than A One Night Stand sessions will kick off at 5.30pm on Thursday 12 September with the Live Music Office’s Live and Local Music Industry Forum with Warrnambool Council at The Lighthouse. The session will provide a valuable opportunity to network with Council and community to discuss what a thriving live music scene looks like for Warrnambool following on from One Night Stand.

At 10am on Saturday 14 September, before all the main action starts, APRA AMCOS will host a one-off SongCraft in Conversation event at The Lighthouse, featuring an in-depth and inspiring conversation with Aussie songwriter/producers Sycco and WHATSONOT.

Staying at the Lighthouse at 12pm, AAM will host an Artist and Manager in Conversation event featuring Sam Hales (The Jungle Giants) and Stu McCullough (Amplifire Music). They’ll discuss their working relationship including the experiences, opportunities and obstacles they’ve encountered, both individually in their respective roles and together as a team, within the current contemporary music industry climate.

After the party wraps up, APRA AMCOS, with youth music organisation The Push, will be returning to the city from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 September for the SongMakers School Holiday Program – a must-attend event for high school music creators looking to learn more and hone their craft.

The special three-day series at Warrnambool Library and The Lighthouse will teach emerging songwriters about music industry careers and electronic music production with mentors Alice Ivy, Jackson Phelan and Woodes.

Karen Don, Head of Membership at APRA AMCOS, adds: “For any music creator heading to or living in Warrnambool this September, these free events are not to be missed! From in conversation sessions to workshops and SongMakers programs, there will be something for everyone, from the aspiring to the experienced.

“Thanks to triple j for the opportunity to extend the One Night Stand event, and to Music Australia for incorporating songwriting into an amazing slate of events and opportunities in regional Victoria.”
