Want to learn about songwriting and production processes from Beckah Amani & Georgia Potter (Moreton)?
We are continuing our SongCraft event series in style with two recipients of the APRA AMCOS Professional Development Awards; Beckah Amani and Georgia Potter. Hosted by producer/multi-instrumentalist Brad Hosking, this SongCraft event is a collaboration between APRA AMCOS and City of Gold Coast as part of their Music Action Plan 2021.
Beckah Amani is a singer/songwriter from the Gold Coast, whose musical style draws influences from soul, pop, alternative folk and R'n'B. Following the release of several highly-acclaimed singles, at the 2021 Queensland Music Awards she took home both the coveted Billy Thorpe Scholarship, as well as the award for Emerging Artist of the Year.
Georgia Potter is a singer/songwriter who is predominantly known for her work as songwriter, guitarist and vocalist for three-piece rock outfit Moreton. The band's brooding art-rock style and mighty yet intimate sound has established them a strong cult following internationally, including major collaborations with James Vincent McMorrow, Jordan Rakei and Late Night Tales.
Brad Hosking is a multi-instrumentalist, session musician and record producer based in Queensland. He has produced and arranged multiple tracks for Amy Shark, as well as performing on, writing for and producing numerous indie, pop and rock bands from around the country. Brad shares his time between touring, lecturing Contemporary Music, and running his own recording studio and production facility.
