Maple Glider is the project of singer-songwriter Tori Zietsch. Tom Iansek is a prolific songwriter, performer and producer. His solo project #1 Dads, represents his direct lyricism, gentle melodies and sparse instrumentation make for homely yet sophisticated pop songs, that have seen him become an unassuming cult favourite in his home country. Iansek is also one half of Big Scary and No Mono, and has also produced albums for many Australian artists, including Hockey Dad, Airling and The Paper Kites.
For this masterclass, the duo will be doing a 'deep dive' into one of Maple Glider's hit singles which they wrote together; 'Swimming.' The session will dissect the detailed aspects of the songwriting and production process, including initial concepts, end goals and creative processes, and analyse WIPs and demos leading all the way up to the finished product.
