Songwriters gather in Tamworth today to learn from top Australian songwriting talent and to connect with the local music community at The Regional Sessions, presented by music rights management organisation APRA AMCOS,with support from Create NSW and MusicNSW.

More speakers have been added with You Am I frontman Tim Rogers confirmed for the keynote 'In Conversation' at Dubbo on 15 June. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Emma Swift is also going to be in Dubbo for the panel discussion and to lead workshops.

Delivering the keynote in Wagga on 11 June is ARIA Award-winning producer and songwriter Wayne Connolly, who will share insights from working on successful albums by Josh Pyke, Paul Dempsey, You Am I, All Our Exes Live in Texas, and more. Versatile songwriter and solo artist Imogen Clark also joins the Wagga line-up to speak on a panel and lead workshops.

Tickets to Dubbo and Wagga are still available. Byron Bay and Wollongong have sold out, wit a waitlist open for both. Tickets and event information is available at The Regional Sessions website.

The full-day program includes two workshop sessions, giving emerging and mid-career songwriter attendees a valuable opportunity to share their work and get feedback in a small group setting.

Workshop mentors have been added to Byron Bay and Wollongong, due to the popular demand. Helen Franzmann will be in Byron Bay; Wollongong also welcomes Imogen Clark, Tim Rogers and Toby Martin.

As the music industry continues to face adversity due to the impacts of COVID-19 and limited performance opportunities and restricted travel, the skills that go into writing the songs that connect and endure are more important and vital than ever.

Unfortunately, the Melbourne lockdowns prevent previously announced speakers from being able to attend and be part of the program: Gordi and Alex Lahey in Dubbo; Beatrice Lewis for Wagga.
