You can now submit manual work registrations via the Publisher Portal. This new interface offers an enhanced user experience, surpassing the functionality and accessibility of the Copyright Management System (CMS).
Key benefits of manual work registration:
- Accessibility: Registrations are no longer limited by CMS access restrictions or user account limitations.
- Flexibility: Both existing works and new works can be registered via the portal.
- Cross-Platform Compatibility: Available on Windows and MacOS desktop systems. (For optimal performance, use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.)
- Comprehensive Data: Captures more data points compared to CMS registrations.
- Real-Time Validation: Input in each field is validated as you proceed.
- Territory-Specific Registrations: Currently supports registrations claiming for Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji (ANF).
Actions still requiring CMS:
- Registering works for specific ANF territories (e.g., Australia/New Zealand only).
Getting started:
- Log in the Publisher Portal
- Ensure your team members have ‘Register’ permissions to use this feature. Team Admins can assign these permissions if required
Note: Manual work registrations submitted via the Registration Hub are fully effective and will synchronise with CMS to create new registrations.
Registration Hub Overview
- Access Point: Central location for manual work registrations.
- Additional Features: If authorised, you can submit Common Works Registration (CWR) files and provide feedback via the integrated form.
Register Existing or New Works:
- Existing Work: Search for the desired work in our database and select it to register.
- New Work: Follow the prompts to complete a new registration.
Enhanced Features in the Publisher Portal
Work Details:
- Expanded fields allow you to input more information than CMS, including:
- ISWC
- Submitter Work ID
- ISRC
- Non-mandatory fields can be skipped, offering flexibility.
Right Holder Search:
- Search for and select writers and publishers via a combined Right Holder and IPI database search.
- No need to pre-create right holders from IPI information.
Right Holder and Share Information:
- Each writer and publisher must be identified by an IP Name number (from IPI or a ‘dummy’ number in our database).
- Introduction of ‘Contribution Shares’ ensures more accurate copyright ownership data:
- A writer’s contribution share is their manuscript share before publishing agreements.
- Publishing details auto-calculate writer collection shares based on contribution shares.
- Only provide publishing details for the writers you represent.
Audio Uploads:
- During the registration process, you can upload MP3 or WAV files for the following:
- TV or radio advertisements: Attaching audio is mandatory for works defined as Jingles and is strongly recommended for other musical works used in TV or radio advertisements. This supports Music Recognition Technology (MRT) to ensure accurate identification and tracking
Manual Work Registration steps
Log in
Go to the Registration tab
Select: Add a registration to an 'existing work' or 'New work registration’
Search for work
To add a registration to an existing work, first search for work and select the ‘Add registration’ button.
If registering a new work simply select new work registration.
You'll arrive at the Manual Work Registration screen
Start your registration and complete information in any field defined as mandatory (defined by *).

- Text field to capture any comments / notes you would like to add about the work or registration.
Review and Register work
- Displays all sections of the registration with the values that have been entered.
- You may edit any section or proceed to complete the registration.
