How much your Production Music licence will cost takes 3 factors into account. The codes for your licence type and territory can be found in our Production Music rate card.
What you're producing
You can choose from the following categories:
- Advertising
- Audio Visual
- Online
- Audio
- Music On Hold
- TV & Radio Programmes
- Films

Music units or tracks
Depending on what you're producing you'll pay for either a duration or number of tracks used.
See how long your music use is in units. 1 unit is 30 seconds (or part thereof).
For example:
- 30 seconds = 1 unit
- 31 seconds = 2 units
Where it will be shown
Select your clearance territory:
- Regional
- Metropolitan (met low & met high NZ)
- National
- World
- WWW

Processing fee
An $11.00 incl GST (NZ $11 ex GST) processing fee will apply for each licence issued. This processing fee is applied per territory, per licence code.
Production Music Licensing Portal
You've got your rate and you've got your licence category code. Now you need a licence!
Report your music use and apply for a licence by logging in to our online Production Music Licensing Portal, which requires your Production Music Client Number (PMCN).
