APRA AMCOS donates to a range of charities across Australia, covering both locally-based and national organisations. We focus on supporting charities with a link to using music to better people's lives and strengthening cultural identities.
Emergencies also affect the lives of music creators and consumers. That's why we take swift action to do our bit.
During the 2011 Queensland flood emergency, we suspended invoices for businesses in affected areas and offered advance payments of royalties to our members. APRA AMCOS offices collected donations from staff that were matched by the company.
We also support Resound, an initiative that provides musicians replacement instruments lost in emergencies, and helped in the Quake Aid concert to benefit relief efforts in Christchurch.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we've supported members by providing an early payment of 2019 Performance Reports royalties, and offering sustainability and creative recovery grants. We advocated for government support for our members, related music industry services and live music venues. Through OneMusic Australia we supported music licence customers with fee-relief for those forced by government to close their doors.
We recognise our position as a leader within our industry, and more generally as corporate citizens. We continually review the social, economic and environmental impact of our operations. We're pleased to report our initiatives:
