Expressions of interest close Sunday 16 November
Applications are now open for the APRA 2026 Board Observership Program.
The Observership Program offers an opportunity to participate in a 12-month program to build experience and confidence in serving on a Board.
Two positions are open for 2026:
- One position is dedicated to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander APRA writer member
- The second position is open to an APRA writer member from another underrepresented community that has had limited access to leadership opportunities due to structural barriers to participation
If selected as an APRA Board Observer, you will:
- Participate in high-quality, accredited board director training delivered by the Australian Institute for Company Directors (AICD) and The Ethics Centre, through The Observership Program
- Join the APRA Board as an Observer for Board meetings held in 2026
- Work with an experienced APRA Director as your Board Buddy, meeting before and after each Board meeting for guidance and learning
- Learn how the APRA Board operates and makes decisions on behalf of music creator and publisher members
- Connect with other Observership Program participants and build a network across the not-for-profit and corporate sectors
- Receive support from the dedicated APRA AMCOS team throughout the year
- Be accredited by The Observership Program upon completion
This is a hands-on, rewarding way to grow your professional skills and contribute meaningfully to your community.
This is the third year that APRA AMCOS has run this program, with Connor McLeod (HYLANDER) and Nkechi Anele completing the program in 2025.
