Melbourne-based composer Ayda Akbal awarded US$10,000 for full-time internship in Los Angeles
American Australian Association's 'APRA AMCOS Global Development Scholarship' given out annually
Congratulations to member Ayda Akbal who was awarded the American Australian Association’s 2023 APRA AMCOS Global Professional Development Scholarship last week.
Ayda received US$10,000 to commence a full-time internship at the score-production company Joy Music House in Los Angeles under the mentorship of Founder and CEO Catherine Joy.
Ayda already has a professional connection with the US, having completed a Film Scoring Summer Intensive at New York University. Ayda’s extensive work in film, theatre, advertisement, and audiobooks has appeared in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Marrakesh and Sydney.
She has previously also received a scholarship for the 2022 APRA AMCOS Screen Music SongHubs in South Australia, and the MESS x AMC Game Audio Intensive (Melbourne).
