Congratulations to Brad Cox, who has been named the recipient of the American Australian Association – APRA AMCOS Global Professional Development Award, a partnership established to support the career growth of outstanding Australian songwriters, producers and composers in the United States.
A Far North Queensland country artist with four studio albums, over 40 million global streams and multiple awards to his name, Brad travelled to Nashville to deepen his craft, expand his creative network, and lay the groundwork for a lasting career in the US country music industry.
His musical roots trace back to his childhood in the car, as he told Tone Deaf: "[In the car growing up] there was always four cassette tapes ... Joe Cocker, Shania Twain, the Commitments soundtrack and something else... I just started singing along."
This partnership brings together the American Australian Association's mission to strengthen the ties between Australia and the United States with APRA AMCOS's long-running commitment to nurturing the next generation of Australian music creators through its Global Professional Development Awards program, now in its 15th year.
