Two fully funded tuition scholarships in Diploma of Audio Production worth a combined $60,000

Scholarships are now underway at SAE University College's Byron Bay and Melbourne campuses

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office (NATSIMO) and SAE University College have announced SKNOW and Sunny Lowe as the recipients of its two tuition scholarships in 2025.

Worth over a combined $60,000, the two fully funded scholarships in the Diploma of Audio Production are currently underway at the college’s Byron Bay and Melbourne campuses.

SKNOW is the creative moniker of multi-disciplinary artist Sarah CVK. Her fluid musical style weaves electronic and acoustic fibres that echo the rhythms of the natural world, drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment and its myriad creatures.

Weilwan woman and soulful songstress, Sunny Luwe, embodies sunshine, soul and spirituality. A finalist for the 2023 QMAs, she has toured with Death by Denim and Old Mervs, and written and recorded with Grammy-nominated artists and multiple ARIA winners.

Sunny Luwe explains: "Getting to study audio production at SAE is incredible. So far, the staff have been really friendly and supportive, and we have a beautifully diverse group of peers.

“My goal by the end of this diploma is to feel confident recording and mixing my own demos and even begin self-producing, which totally terrifies me to be honest, but maybe that's a good thing!"

Nathaniel Andrew, Senior Manager at NATSIMO, adds: “Supporting the growth of music creators like SKNOW and Sunny Luwe aligns perfectly with NATSIMO’s mission to nurture and develop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the music industry.

“We look forward to witnessing their creative and professional growth and can’t wait to see the incredible music they produce from this experience!”

“We’re delighted to continue our collaboration with the APRA AMCOS and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office (NATSIMO) in supporting the next generation of audio professionals,” adds Sean Foran, SAE University College Course Director of Audio and Music.

“Through this opportunity, we hope that both recipients will further develop their industry experience, refine their technical expertise and expand their creative networks within the SAE community and beyond.”

2025 is the fourth year for this scholarship opportunity and the second with SAE. Previous recipients have included Aodhan, Mr Rhodes and THOM.

The 102827H Diploma of Audio Production course offers students the unique opportunity to learn from expert practitioners by engaging in a collaborative learning environment where they apply their skills in real-life scenarios, utilising the latest tools and software.
