Submissions are now open for the Screen Music Awards 2023.

Screen music composers are encouraged to submit their entries online for consideration across a range of categories.

Submissions close Tuesday 11 July, 5pm AEST.


Has your music featured in a screen production over the past year?

APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC) invite you to apply for the 2023 Screen Music Awards. The awards focus on music in film and television across 12 categories including short film, documentary, mini-series, children's programming and feature film.

Submissions are open to any songwriter or composer that has had their work featured in a production which received its first public screening, broadcast or release during 1 July 2022 - 30 June 2023.This includes first releases on YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, or any other streaming platform.

For Feature Film Score of the Year, the eligibility period is 1 July 2022 - 30 September 2023 - the production must have its first public screening, broadcast or commercial release within this timeframe.

Many emerging and established songwriters and composers have picked up wins in previous years, including Joff Bush, Missy Higgins, Fred Leone, Oscar Joe Gross, Angela Little, Piers Burbrook de Vere and Sean Tinnion.

Submissions close Tuesday 11 July, 5pm AEST.

  • Best Television Theme
  • Feature Film Score of the Year
