Apply for High Score: Co-op to collaborate with your peers all over Australia on award-winning indie game, Heavenly Bodies. Under the supervision of the game's Sound Director and Designer (Byron Scullin & Mark Mitchell), you'll re-score and implement multiple levels online via the audio middleware tool, FMOD.
Composers and songwriters will have the opportunity to deepen their engagement with the games community and produce exceptional new video games works through High Score: Co-Op, an intensive virtual compositional opportunity that brings together Australian music creators with the local games industry.
The title Co-Op comes from 'co-op gaming', a multiplayer game where people are working together towards a common goal.
High Score: Co-Op will bring together composers, songwriters and sound designers, under an experienced mentor, allowing them to create dynamic music for locally developed games. The game and its requirements will act as a starting point for the participants and give insights into not only how to create audio for games, but how the music is implemented into the game itself.
To apply to you need to provide some information about yourself and two links to your work as relevant to video game audio.
Applications have been extended and are now closing on Monday January 30 2023 at 4pm AEDT. Open Austalia-wide.
High Score Co-op will take place twice in 2023, Heavenly Bodies on 16-17 February and 13-14 April with a game yet-to-be-announced. A single application will put you in consideration for both opportunities.
