Aussie legends AC/DC pick up three nominations: Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance, Best Music Video
2021 APRA Music Awards Breakthrough Songwriter The Kid LAROI is a Best New Artist nominee
The nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards were announced early morning (local time) Wednesday 24 November and they feature an incredible amount of Aussie songwriting, producing and performing talent. Before The Kid LAROI picked up two ARIAs later in the evening, he was named a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist.
And, our indefatigable researchers left no Grammy stone unturned so that we could acknowledge all members who are nominated or contributors to a nominated album or work.

The prestigious Album of the Year category includes some of Australia's most exciting songwriters and producers. The Kid LAROI is a featured artist and a writer on Justin Bieber's 'Unstable' from Justice. Chris 'TEK' O'Ryan, a longtime Bieber collaborator, is nominated for his engineering and vocal production on Justice, which is also nominated in the categories Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Billions Award-recipient Khalid Rohaim and Sid Mallick are both credited on Doja Cat's Her Planet for the song 'Love to Dream'. Her Planet and Justice are both nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album as well.
18YOMAN (Vincent Goodyer) is a writer on the track 'Am I Dreaming (feat. Miley Cyrus)' on Lil Nas X's AOTY nominee Montero. You can hear insights direct from Vincent in our Songwriter Speaks with Milan Ring, he also participated in NATSIMO's Resonate sessions at Studios 301 earlier in the year.
AC/DC come roaring in with not one, not two, but three nominations off the back of their Power Up album: Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance and Best Music Video for 'Shot in the Dark'. Founding member Angus Young spoke about how the album is a tribute to his late brother and band member Malcolm Young, who is a songwriter on all of the album's songs.
Previous Grammy nominees RÜFÜS DU SOL (Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt) are in the running for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their hit 'Alive', along with track's mixer and fellow Aussie Cassian Stewart-Kasimba.
Producer/songwriter Christopher Stracey is a co-writer on the Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Bonobo dancefloor-ready track 'Heartbreak', which is nominated in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category.
Melbourne's neo-soul wizards Hiatus Kaiyote are nominees in the Best Progressive R&B Album category for their acclaimed Mood Valiant LP. They are two-time previous nominees as well as major influencers on Grammy winners - their song 'Atari' was sampled on Kendrick Lamar's 'Duckworth' from his 2019 Best Rap Album Damn.
Man of many talents Nick Cave is nominated for his role as co-art director with Tom Hingston for Best Recording Package for the Nick Cave & Warren Ellis album Carnage.
Nashville-based songwriter Mitch Wong is an in-demand collaborator in contemporary Christian and gospel music. He is a co-writer on 'Voice of God', nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song, performed by Dante Bowe Featuring Steffany Gretzinger & Chandler Moore. Wong is also a co-writer on Cece Winans' Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song nominee 'Believe For It', which is the title track on Winans' Best Gospel Album nominated work.

Superstar Sia is a co-writer and featured vocalist alongside Labrinth on 'Titans', from Major Lazer's Music Is The Weapon (Reloaded), nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album.
One of this country's all-time songwriting legends, the late Geoff Mack, will figure into popular songs for decades to come. He is a credited writer on Rhonda Vincent's 'I Ain't Been Nowhere', which draws upon the melody from Mack's 'I've Been Everywhere'. Rihanna, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton have all recorded their own versions of the song. Vincent is up for Best Bluegrass Album for her LP Music Is What I See.
Sampa the Great collaborated with the excellent Angelique Kidjo on 'Free & Equal' from Kidjo's Best Global Music Album nominee Mother Nature.
In the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album category, Alex Pappas is a writer on Tauren Well's 'Echo' from the album Citizen of Heaven. Well-known worship leader Darlene Zschech is a co-writer of 'In Jesus' Name' featured on Israel & New Breed's Feels Like Home Vol. 2.
