APRA AMCOS announces the appointment of Karen Don to Head of Membership, a promotion from her role as Director Publisher Services. She began the new position on Monday 26 February.

Karen started with APRA AMCOS in June last year, bringing extensive experience as a legal and business affairs executive in the music and entertainment industries. She has more than 20 years' experience at Universal Music Australia and Universal Music Publishing, and has served on the Board of ARIA.

Karen will oversee the membership division’s strategy, framework and roadmap to deliver best-in-class efficient and effective service to the organisation’s songwriter, composer and publisher members.

“Karen’s experience and in-depth knowledge of the Australasian music ecosystem and the global marketplace makes her incredibly well-equipped to lead the Membership team as we evolve our services and provide support that meets the diverse needs of our members", said Dean Ormston, Chief Executive at APRA AMCOS.

“I am very excited to be stepping into the position of Head of Membership, which is such an important role, both within APRA AMCOS and the wider music industry. I look forward to leading the organisation's membership initiatives and service delivery and am committed to championing the creativity and professional growth of our songwriter, composer and music publisher members”, said Karen Don.

As Head of Membership, Karen will hold responsibility for delivering and innovating a broad suite of services to the full breadth of APRA AMCOS’ global membership, including music publishing enterprise members, individual established songwriters and composers, and emerging songwriters across all genres.

Karen will be a key member of the APRA AMCOS executive leadership team, partnering with that team to protect members’ repertoire and maximise royalty payments and to oversee the delivery of outreach initiatives that are broadly representative and inclusive.
