Hope D, Lupa J, Nik Navy and Sheldon Riley to perform at the next Express Yourself - Queer Discovery showcase, a joint initiative between Mardi Gras and APRA AMCOS.

The third and final showcase will take place in Sydney, with a date to be announced soon.

Thanks to our Sydney Solstice Mardi Gras Pride Month showcase artists BVT, No Frills Twins and Clara Fable, headliner Alex the Astronaut and host Faustina Agolley for a special event at the Metro.

Up-and-coming artists BVT, Clara Fable and No Frills Twins wowed the crowd of music fans, industry guests and judges for the second Express Yourself - Queer Discovery event, which took place at Sydney's Metro Theatre on 18 June, as part of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras' Pride Month and the Sydney Solstice program. Acclaimed wordsmith Alex the Astronaut headlined and Faustina Agolley hosted the festivities.

The judging panel featured Marcia Hines, Gordi, Starley, APRA AMCOS CEO Dean Ormston and Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras CEO Albert Kruger.

These acts now join our previous performers, Aya Yves and JamarzOnMarz, in the running to perform at a future Mardi Gras event.

But that's not all!

Due to COVID guidelines and travel restrictions, several acts who were previously selected to showcase were sadly unable to join us. To ensure they can showcase their talent for a chance to win it all, Hope D, Lupa J, Nik Navy and Sheldon Riley will perform for our judges and music industry representatives in Sydney at a future date. We cannot wait!
