Jana Gibson, Head of Member Services APRA AMCOS, will step down from her role and leave at the end of June. Jana intends to focus on her family life and consider future career options.
In her 18 years with APRA AMCOS, Jana has made an incredible contribution to the public profile of the company, from shaping the APRA Awards programs as Events Manager, to leading the Communications & Events teams, and finally to taking on leadership of the Member Services Division. She has been a fierce and consistent advocate for APRA AMCOS members and for staff as part of the executive leadership team, and has represented both in a confident, knowledgeable, and intelligent way to the Boards and to external stakeholders. She has always striven to show the organisation in its best light.
Jana’s long list of achievements include driving the Song Summit event series from 2008 -2012; revitalising the Art Music Awards, and the growth of the Awards series under her Executive Producer guidance; instigating significant business intelligence tools for members, and improving initiatives and services to benefit the membership; commissioning research into women screen composers’ career barriers, and subsequently establishing a member gender equity initiative that has resulted in meaningful programs and mentorships to address the imbalance; and championing the vision of the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Music Office. Jana’s impact on people cannot be understated – her support and compassion for her colleagues; her ability to lead with care, while empowering and trusting her team members to grow and learn. She has nurtured and mentored many staff through their own APRA AMCOS career journeys to become capable, passionate senior leaders within the company.
