Join us on Monday 5 June for Anatomy of Album Adelaide with The Shaolin Afronauts!
Songwriter Dylan Marshall
and sound engineer Tom Barnes
will discuss the band's 5-part project, The Fundamental Nature of Being.
The project was recorded over just five days, drawing upon the band's rich influence of 1970s West and South African music, jazz, psych-rock & soul and electronic avant-garde. The session will explore the important role of improvisation and spontaneity in the band's recording process, and the way that approach has evolved over the ensemble's near fifteen years together.
The event's moderator is singer, composer and educator Lauren Henderson
