Anatomy of an Album Adelaide with The Shaolin Afronauts
Join us on Monday 5 June for Anatomy of Album Adelaide with The Shaolin Afronauts!
Songwriter Dylan Marshall and sound engineer Tom Barnes will discuss the band's 5-part project, The Fundamental Nature of Being. The project was recorded over just five days, drawing upon the band's rich influence of 1970s West and South African music, jazz, psych-rock & soul and electronic avant-garde. The session will explore the important role of improvisation and spontaneity in the band's recording process, and the way that approach has evolved over the ensemble's near fifteen years together.
