EQUALIZE is a free, one-day practical workshop focusing on songwriting, music production and audio engineering. Learn new skills in a supportive, inclusive and open environment, guided by music industry pros!

About the mentors:

Hatchie (Harriette Pilbeam) is a dream-pop singer-songwriter and musician. Growing up in Brisbane, and having studied at QUT, she has released three acclaimed studio albums, Keepsake (2019), Giving the World Away (2022) and Liquorice (2025), earning praise for her evolution as both a songwriter and producer. Critics have described her music as “cinematic, sweeping dream-pop” (DIY Magazine) and noted her ability to create “a pop core amid seemingly structureless arrangements” (Pitchfork). Her catalogue has amassed tens of millions of streams, cementing her reputation as one of contemporary dream pop’s most compelling voices.

Bess Egerton (she/her), aka Hag, is a Magandjin/Brisbane-based producer, recording engineer and multi-instrumentalist. Across projects with Red Hill, The Ra Ta Tas, Leevai, Hati and others, she has developed a genre-fluid approach that draws equally on her technical experience and musicianship. Curious and slightly obsessive about the details, Bess gravitates towards warm sounds, interesting textures and recordings that still feel human.
