Music can be the quiet hero of an interactive game. It propels the journey forward (or back!), but to do that, it has to take a lot of twists and turns.

Our High Score Sound Check video series takes you through the sound story of a game - as told by the creator/developer the composer and/or sound designer.

For the game Riftborn, hear how Barrel Smash Studios game co-lead James Thomas and composer Hew Wagner are building suspense and layering with music.

Don't miss hearing Danna at High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Games, 1-2 October. She'll be on a panel discussing how to take games music to the concert hall.

Limited early bird discounted tickets for in-person attendance are on sale now. The popular music-in-games conference will be presented in a hybrid format for the first time, with standard price live stream tickets also on sale and available worldwide.

High Score is presented by music rights organisation APRA AMCOS, in partnership with Creative Victoria, and part of Melbourne International Games Week.
