APRA AMCOS has broadcast licence agreements with all Commercial, National Subscription and Community Television Stations, and reproduction licences in place where required.
Stations pay fees monthly based on a percentage of the station’s gross advertising revenue in that month. The rate varies from 0.054% to 3.76%. This rate depends on the amount of registered works broadcast as a percentage of their on-air time.
Our Community Radio Licences are for radio stations broadcasting on an AM/FM signal. If you are looking for information on online-only radio stations, head over to Online licences.
We offer a Permanent or Temporary licence to Community Radio Stations covering broadcast, reproduction and online use on an “opt-in” basis, so stations only pay for what they need. We also offer a specific licence for providers of Radio for the Print Handicapped.
A narrowcast broadcast service is one which targets special interest groups or which are received in a limited location for limited period of time. There are three types of licence available for Narrowcast Radio stations:
The licence fee is based on gross earning and the percentage of broadcast hours dedicated to music. Music use is reported by the Annual Reporting Schedule.
A cue sheet is a record of all the songs and compositions used in a film and television production. We need these for every locally produced program broadcast in Australia, regardless of how the music was sourced.
